John, The Gospel of Life (03-13-22)

Our God Saves

By: Paul Baloche, Brenton Gifford Brown

In the name of the Father,
In the name of the Son,
In the name of the Spirit,
Lord we come;
We gather together
To lift up Your name,
To call on our Savior,
To fall on Your grace.

Hear the joyful sound of our offering
As Your saints bow down,
As Your people sing
We will rise with You,
Lifted on Your wings
And the world will see that…

Our God saves,
Our God saves,
There is hope in Your name;
Mourning turns to songs of praise,
Our God saves,
Our God saves!

For all of Your goodness,
For all of Your grace,
For all of Your mercy,
Lord, we praise,
We come now to worship,
Beholding Your face,
We turn our hearts to You,
The God who can save.

We see and we now realize
That in us You’re saving and growing,
That Jesus You’re changing our lives,
We’ll shine so the whole world will know…

Our Blessed Redeemer,
Our Savior and Friend,
Jesus our Answer, our Way our End
We light Your name higher
Above every name
We call on You, Jesus,
The God who will save!

Lord, I Need You

By: Matthew G Maher, Jesse Pryor Reeves, Daniel Carson, Christy Nockels, Kristian Paul Stanfill

Lord, I come, I confess,
Bowing here, You are my rest;
Without You I fall apart,
You’re the One that guards my heart.

You alone have power to save,
Lord, all my sin, You take away;
So wash me now, in Your precious blood,
You’re the Way that I come to God.

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You;
My one defense, my righteousness,
Oh God, how I need You.

Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more,
Where grace is found, is where You are,
And where You are, Lord, I am free;
Holiness is Christ in me.

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way,
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You,
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay.

Only Christ

Who can set us free from sin?
Only Christ! Only Christ!
Who can be our life within?
Only Christ!
Only Christ! Only Christ!
Only Christ can set us free;
Only Christ!

O Light of Light, Shine In

O Light of light, shine in!
Cast out this night of sin,
Create true day within:
O Light of light, shine in!

O Light, all light excelling,
Make my heart Thy dwelling;
O Joy, all grief dispelling,
To my poor heart come in!

O Joy of joys, come in!
End Thou this grief of sin,
Create calm peace within:
O Joy of joys, come in!

O Life of life, pour in!
Expel this death of sin,
Awake true life within:
O Life of life, pour in!

O Love of love, flow in!
This hateful root of sin
Deal with, renew, within:
O Love of love, flow in!

O Heaven of heavens, descend!
This cloudy curtain rend,
And all earth’s turmoil end:
O Heaven of heavens, descend!

My God and Lord, O come!
Of joys the Joy and Sum,
Make in this heart Thy home:
My God and Lord, O come!

“John, The Gospel of Life”

Message given by Peter McNaughton on March 13, 2022

John 3:3
Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 6:53-54
53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

John 15:4-5
Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

John 1:1-18
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it.

The Witness John the Baptist

A man came, one sent from God, and his name was John. He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.

This was the true Light that, coming into the world, enlightens every person. 10 He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, and yet the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own people did not accept Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God.

The Word Made Flesh

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John *testified about Him and called out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who is coming after me has proved to be my superior, because He existed before me.’” 16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time; God the only Son, who is in the arms of the Father, He has explained Him.
