Habakkuk is starkly original. It is a dialog between the prophet and God concerning the violence and harshness of the Babylonians in their conquest of Judah. Habakkuk wonders about righteousness. God gives the answer in prophecy that eventually the just shall live by faith. In spite of the violence, the Lord is still in His Holy temple, and all the earth would do well to be silenced before Him as God revives His work.
